Things it is always better to keep with you in your own car

However reliable the moving company and however honest and professional the crew, standard practice in managing a home move is for the customer to keep highly sensitive personal belongings in their own car, rather than in the truck:

Official documents: title deeds and leases, family ID cards, passports, birth certificates and school records.
Jewelry and cash: gold, valuable watches, bank cards and emergency cash for moving day.
Medication and chargers: medication for chronic conditions, baby supplies (milk and diapers) and phone chargers, so they are on hand all day.
A note about electrical appliances

It is best to check the manufacturer's manual for your sensitive appliances. Some smart TV screens, refrigerators with special filters or automatic washing machines need specific preparation before the move, such as fitting the transit bolts that hold the wash drum so the internal shock absorbers do not work loose.
